Oppo Hyper Boost Mobile Acceleration Technology launched, will take on Huaweis GPU Turbo tech

Chip makers will keep on bringing new SoCs to power smartphones. But when a cluster of manufacturers are using the same chips in their flagship handsets, it becomes a daunting task for the phone-makers to get most out of the available hardware. Keeping that in mind, Oppo has launched its Hyper Boost Mobile Acceleration Technology to boost its smartphones’ performance. The news comes as Huawei prepares to bring the second generation of its GPU Turbo technology in EMUI 9.0 OS. According to a report on news.mydrivers.com, Oppo announced the self-developed acceleration engine 'Hyper Boost' claiming that the tech can achieve “system-level performance optimisation and greatly improve mobile phone fluency.” The tech is said to optimise a smartphone’s performance in three aspects: System, Gaming and Application Smoothness. Oppo says that the new tech uses a Behavior-Aware Scheduling (BAS) solution for boosting the systems perfromance. In terms of gaming, the company says it has tied-up with Tencent, Netease and the three other major game developers to optimise the top 100 mobile games. In terms of application smootheness, Oppo says that it has specifically optimised platform-level super applications such as WeChat, mobile Taobao and mobile QQ. It claims that on WeChat, the fluency of the incoming and outgoing conversation pages is increased by 29.8 percent, the smoothness of the circle of friends is increased by 19.9 percent and the fluency of unread chat groups increased by 23.5 percent. Oppo says that in the future, it will combine Artificial Intelligence with Hyper Boost to enhance its capabilities make "learning analysis, automatic adaptation and the optimisation process is more intelligent.” The report says that Oppo could incorporate the technology in R17 series first and then release it for its other models later.
